In a large building construction company you need to recruit several managers for large construction sites. Apart from technical expertise and experience, what other criteria for selection would you like to identify for recruitment? List at least five criteria to be part of the company’s selection policies? Present your reasoning and provide examples.

How well do they interact with the people they are responsible for
Managers that deal effectively with others minimize stress in the work place. (ie if manager A yells and screams at his workers they can screw with the job site to “get even”)
How well do they manage their time
Managers that show up late for one reason or another can bring production down
(ier. manager A is late every morning, without direction the worker cannot do his job or will feel he has the right to come in late as well)
Do they take responsibility for their own mistakes
Managers that do so are more likely to catch their mistakes before they go to far.
(manager A shifts blame for errors to other workers, again the worker may sabotage the work site out of spite)
Do they pay attention to detail
Managers that do so are less likely to miss critical step in a building process
(manager A rushes into a project before fully understanding materials or workers needed, thus costing money to correct the mistake)
How well do they manage in emergencies
Managers that can work under duress improve the confidence of other workers
(manager A panics at a surprise inspection by the state, he makes the whole project seem like a disaster area)
